I made a short video when it was being built in the summer so here is a bit of background to the place from Mr Exist Ric.

2nd new spot of the year happened to be in Spain, never know what you may miss going anywhwere without a board so i packed it. Lucky as this big concrete park was a couple of miles down the road. Loads of bowls but all very similar...it was a frontside grind paradise and i reckon i got a good half an hour before the heat started to slow things down. Met a Bmxer from London who got his family holiday arranged around this park.

First recorded session of 4242...Market Harborough skatepark, built in 1976...knocked down in 2011! A couple of months after this picture the place was demolished. My next visit wasn't so bad though as the new park was being built on the very same spot.

A very apt first spot as this was the first skatepark i ever went to...next visit will be to skate the new version which is guaranteed to bear no resemblance to the place i first skated in 1987.

A quick look at the list so far......

Not content with just doing frontside grinds...

So that's seven spots so far...only 35 new spots to find in the next six months.

Inspired by Project 4545 this is 4242......

The idea is this....aged 42 in June of 2011 the plan is to skate 42 different spots before my next birthday; June 2012. I'm a bit behind as i only heard about this in November...that leaves six months to get to a few spots....there are a couple of rules...
"The rules are: each session has to be 30 minutes (or till I get kicked out) to count, different parts of the same skatepark don't count, unless they built in different eras (like Pizzey). That's it. Let the radness begin!" Twiss (Swansea vert legend) has set this rolling...i'll see if i can keep up. I'll keep checking Project 4545 for inspiration and tales of new spots although i think Australia is off my list.
